Darlene Wilkins

Services for Edith Darlene Wilkins, 70, of Temple, will be held on Friday, September 9 at 10:00 a.m. at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple. Burial will follow in Greathouse Cemetery near Temple.

Ms. Wilkins died Monday, September 5, at a local care facility.

Edith Darlene Wilkins was born on December 15, 1945 in Coleman County, Texas to Arnold Wilkins and Alice Mae Bell McBride. After graduating from high school, she worked for the Mental Health/Mental Retardation Services. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Academy.

She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Kenneth Wilkins, Earl Wilkins, and Sherman Wilkins; and two sisters, Rosa Canady, and Louise Fullen.

Survivors include a sister, Shirley Craft and husband Roy; two brothers, Bobby Wilkins and wife Billie June, and Gerald Wilkins and wife Sue.

Memorial donations may be made in Edith's name to First Baptist Church of Academy.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, September 8th from 6:00-8:00 pm.
