Daniel Lara

Daniel Silvas Lara, 73 of Temple, passed away Thursday, November 25, 2010 in a local hospital. Funeral service will be 11:00am Monday, November 29, 2010 at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Temple. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple.

Daniel Silvas was born April 10, 1937 in Beeville, Texas. On July 6, 1991, he married Rosie J. Williams in Bell County. He worked in custodial services for numerous business including Scott and White Hospital, and local banks. He attended St. Luke Catholic Church in Temple and Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Temple.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Frank Gutierrez, and sister Salmone Hernandez.

Survivors include his wife Rosie J. Lara of Temple, son, Charles Watson and wife Jennifer of Portland, Oregon, daughters Carmen Lara of Temple, Katharine Newman and husband James of Killeen, Carroll Watts and husband Bill of Oklahoma, and Antha Arevalo of Temple, brothers Pete Lara of Temple, Ruben Gutierrez of Tuscan, Arizona, Domingo Gutierrez Jr. of Temple, Robert Gutierrez of Temple, Tony Gutierrez of Hutto, Sammy Gutierrez of Edinburg, Demetrio Gutierrez of Rogers, and Ben Gutierrez of Corpus Christi, sisters Sue Salinas of Edinburg, and Lyndia Erickson of Phoenix, Arizona, 20 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 16 great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6:008:00pm Sunday, November 28, 2010 at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Temple. Rosary will be recited at 7:00pm.
