The service for Dalline "Dean" Farrell, 89, of Temple, will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 28 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple with Reverend Leslie Byrd officiating.
Mrs. Farrell died Tuesday, May 24, at her home in Temple.
Dean was born February 2, 1927 in Troy, Texas to Otis Spoonts and Belle Pyeatt Spoonts. She graduated from Belton High School. She married James Farrell on April 21, 1948 and he preceded her in death in 2002. Aunt Dean was a homemaker, seamstress, and loved fishing. She caught sand bass to feed her family. She loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children. She was a United Methodist by faith and a member of Troy United Methodist Church.
Dean was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James; a brother, "Cotton" Spoonts, three sisters, B. Wyatt, Clessie Talarico, and Naomi Stevenson, and two nephews, Andy Coley and "Bo" Spoonts.
She is survived by four nephews, David Wyatt and wife Darlene, Ronnie Farrell and wife Janis, Robby Farrell and wife Shelly, and Billy Bob Farrell and wife Cindy; six nieces, Mona Belluomini and husband Mike, Kay Nan Ledger and husband Billy Joe, Karla Sparger, Debbie Winston and husband Joe, Betty Hester and husband Richard, and Nancy B. Sammons, and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend a special thank-you to all of Dean's caregivers.

Visitation will be 6 - 8 p.m. Friday, May 27 at the funeral home.
