Curtis Petty

Curtis Lee Petty, 85 of Temple, passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2010 in a Dumas hospital. Funeral service will be 10:00am Saturday, October 30, 2010 at HarperTalasek Funeral Home Chapel in Temple with Rev. Bill Borho officiating. Burial will follow in Holland Cemetery.

Mr. Petty was born October 20, 1925 to Luther and Ellen Jones Petty in Temple, Texas. He proudly served our country in the United States Air Force. In 1946, he married Doris Jean Moon in Belton, Texas. He worked as a concrete dispatcher, an auto mechanic, and a truck driver. Curtis Petty was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Temple.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Doris in 2001, daughter Barbara Jean West, grandchild Denise Petty, and brother Luther Pete Petty.

Survivors include sons Curtis Dale Petty of Katy, and Warner C. of Temple, daughter, Brenda Lundy of Rogers, brothers Melvin Petty of San Antonio, Donald Petty Of Granbury, sisters Roberta Dixon of Belton, Lucille Shedd of Dumas, Rozella Moon of Belton, and Beatrice Barnes of San Antonio, grandchildren Gary, Heather, Stacey, 10 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to Morning Star Ranch Ministries, 4701 County Road 328, Milano, Texas 76556.

Visitation will be 68pm Friday, October 29, 2010 at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Temple.
