Corina Martinez

Services for Corina Chavez Martinez, 78, of Temple will be held on Saturday, August 27 at 9:00 am. Burial will follow to Hillcrest Cemetery.
Mrs. Martinez went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, August 23 surrounded by her loving family.
Corina Chavez Martinez was born in Ellis, Texas on October 22, 1937 to Pedro Chavez and Consuelo Salas. She met and married the love of her life Felipe F. Martinez, Sr. on April 18, 1956 and just celebrated their 60th Anniversary. She became a mother in 1957 and together they had six children. Her hearts greatest joy was her family, music and dancing. She decorated her home with pictures of all of her family. She enjoyed crocheting baby doll clothing and quilts. Corina had a lot of patience and was very talented. She was a member of Our Lady Guadalupe Catholic Church.
She is preceded in death by parents, brother Santiago Chavez, sisters Refujia Flores, Esperanza Abalos, Patsy Petra Flores, son Felix C. Martinez, great-grandson Gregorio N. Martinez III.
Her memories will be honored by surviving husband, sisters Dominga Martinez, Enriqueta Flores, Placida Villanueva, sons Felipe Martinez Jr. and wife Marylou, Richard Martinez and wife Mary Linda, Gregorio Martinez and wife Mary Alice, daughters Rosa Martinez Mata, Minerva Martinez Rios and husband John, sixteen grandchildren, forty-two great-grandchildren, 3 great-Great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at 5:00 - 8:00 pm with recitation of the rosary at 7:00 pm on Friday August 26 at the Funeral Home
Services are in the care of Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.
