Clara Murehead

Clara Lee Murehead, 90, passed away August 23, 2010 at her residence in Temple.
She was born April 10, 1920 to the late Clyde Benjamin and Sally May Ellis Smith in Fort Worth. She married Arthur Mickson Murehead in San Antonio on January 4, 1937. He preceded her in death in 2004.
Clara had lived in Temple area since 1959. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Temple. She was also a member of the Joy Singers Choir, the Monday Manna Bible Study and the Kathryn Smith Bible Study.
Clara is preceded in death by her husband, brothers: Clyde Smith, Glenn Smith and Floyd Smith, sister: Lela Mae Schiavo, and granddaughter: Jean Nations.
She is survived by son: Michael Murehead and wife, Bonnie of Bandera, daughters: Amanda Daniels of Temple and Carol Murehead of Belton. Nana is also survived by grandchildren: Melissa Fetterhoff of Temple, Luke Murehead of Bandera, Adam Murehead of Shelbyville, Kay Purdy of Richmond, VA and Sonya Pinkston of Azle. Great grandchildren: Matthew Fetterhoff, Melody Lander, Ally Purdy, McKenzie Murehead, Charity Pinkston, Joseph Pinkston and Anthony Pinkston. One great great grandson, Bryce Pinkston. And many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 68 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 25, 2010 at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Temple with Rev. Elwyn Johnston officiating. Burial will follow in Bellwood Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank Dr. Kathy Kimmey and her nurse, Stephanie and also Dr. Edwin Terry for their special care. Also, to Vistacare Hospice for being there for all of us, and special love and thanks to longtime friend and caregiver, Carmen Baker.
