Funeral services for Christopher Alan Gallup, 30, of Temple will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, June 1, 2018 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple. Burial will follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen at 3:00 p.m.
He passed away on Friday, May 25, 2018 in Temple.
He was born January 25, 1988 in Bay City, Michigan to Gary and Lisa Marie (Boyce) Gallup. He was homeschooled and graduated from Bob Jones Academy in 2006. He later attended Temple College. Christopher joined the US Air Force in October 2006 and served until September 2012. During this time he served tours of duty in Afghanistan and Korea. He was a US Army National Guardsman from 2012 to present, with a rank of Sergeant. He was a police officer with the US Veterans Affairs Police department from March 24, 2013 through January 10, 2015. He served with the Temple Police Department from January 2015 until his passing. Christopher was a member of CLEAT, a police organization. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Temple.
Christopher was a loving husband, devoted father, beloved son and brother and trusted friend to everyone he met. He had a servant's heart and was a hero to his family and the many people he helped during his career as a police officer. As a young boy he enjoyed hunting and church and 4-H activities. While in 4-H he raised and showed cattle and even participated in a Diaper Derby contest where he was named Champion. Above all he loved to spend time with his family and friends. He loved his children and was always there to support them in all that they did. He will forever be their #1 Fan. Christopher will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Claude E. and Constance E. Schneider.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Michaellyn Gallup; 2 sons, Christopher "Junior" Gallup and Robert Gallup; 3 daughters, Victoria Guzman, Serenity Guzman and Isla Mariana Gallup; his parents, Gary and Lisa Gallup; a sister, Heather Gallup; grandparents, Nancy & Donald LaForge and John Boyce; mother-in-law, Leticia Palacios; father-in-law, Michael Cabrera; brother-in-law Michael Jordan Cabrera; aunts, Kathryn Boyce and Ann Mulligan; Erica Alonso; uncles Terry Gallup, Lawrence Smith and wife Samantha, and Donald Gallup and wife Blenda. He is also survived by numerous loving family members and friends.
