Capt. Cecil Gordon Mac McCullough, 89, of Temple, Texas, died Monday, July 13, 2009 in the William R. Courtney Texas State Veterans Home in Temple.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Monday, July 20, 2009 at Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery in Dallas with Rev. Dana Norton officiating.

Capt. McCullough was born to Amer Archibald McCullough and Adda May Karr McCullough in Collinsville, Oklahoma on March 15, 1920. He was raised on the family farm in Collinsville and attended Northeastern Oklahoma Jr. College in Miami, Oklahoma. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the China-India-Burma Theatre under the Flying Tigers Gen. Claire Chennault in the 14th Air Force. Capt. McCullough received the Bronze Star and various other military decorations. Following the war, he flew as a pilot with Delta Air Lines for 34 years. He received recognition for 50 years of membership in the Collinsville Masonic Lodge.

Capt. McCullough is survived by five sons, Gordon Mason McCullough of Irving, TX, Jimmy Allen McCullough of Mount Shasta, CA, Howard Lee McCullough of Camas, WA, Larry Wayne McCullough of Clemson, SC and David Neal McCullough of Tryon, NC; twelve grandchildren, Elizabeth McCullough, Teresa Lytle, Michael McCullough, Michelle McCullough, Lisa McCullough, Stephanie Williams, Kimberlee Stengel, Jeffrey McCullough, Marie Nebesky, Aaron McCullough, Kathryn McCullough and Isaac McCullough; eight great grandchildren, Miranda McCullough, David McCullough, Ashton Williams, Ava Williams, Jacob Stengel, Abigail Stengel, Alena Nebesky and Addison Nebesky; and former wives, Fay Townsend McCullough of Mount Shasta, CA and Bonnie Clark McCullough of Smyrna Beach, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Lena Ruth Martin McCullough and Janie Foster McCullough; and six siblings, Elva Crusinbery Fox, Lloyd McCullough, Leo McCullough, Myrtle Hendrickson, Gladdis McCullough and Leonard McCullough.
