Services for Catherine Marie Greer, 94, of Troy will be 11:00 am on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple. Burial will follow in procession to Roberts Cemetery in Troy.
Catherine M. Greer died on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at a local care facility.
Catherine Greer was born on September 14, 1922 to Paul Martin Stark and Anna Missiorski in Granite City, Illinois. She married the love of her life Bert E. Greer on July 18, 1942 in St. Charles, Missouri. She lived in Granite City, Illinois from 1922-1954. She moved to Troy, Texas in 1954. They started their family November 20, 1944 with their first born child. Catherine was a homemaker and worked in Temple until her retirement at Kopriva Cabinets in 1987. Her hobbies include gardening, cooking, playing the organ and playing cards. She had a passion for bicycle marathon riding up until her 70th birthday. She loved to travel to Alaska, Mexico and around the United States to visit her family. She was a member of a bowling league, American Business Woman's Association, American Legion Temple Post 133. She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Troy, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bert E. Greer of 49 years; parents; two brothers, Frank Stark and Leroy Stark; two sisters, Mary Ann Hughes and Rosalina "Mitzi" Turner.
Survivors include two daughters, Sue Ann Guggenbickler and husband Tony, Judy Janes and husband Gene; brother, Alfred Stark; sister, Glenda Singleton; six grandchildren, Chris Guggenbickler (Jodie), Stanley Guggenbickler, Toni Marie Guggenbickler (Randy), Judy Guggenbickler, Scott Janes (Janna), and Kelli Marie England; sixteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at the funeral home.
Arrangements are in the care of Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.
