Services for Catalina Rodriguez Machuca, 95, of Temple, will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 27 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Temple with Father Tom Chamberlain officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Mrs. Machuca died Tuesday, February 24 in Temple.
Catalina was born March 22, 1919 in Port Arthur, Texas to Genaro and Francisca Solis Rodriguez. She lived most of her life in the Temple area, working as a cook in local restaurants. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and served as a Guadalupana and a Cursillista. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and crocheting and collected costume jewelry and knick-knacks. She had a passion for cooking and raising her flowers and her children.
Mrs. Machuca was preceded in death by her husband, Pascual Machuca, Sr.; sons, Francisco Machuca and Margarito Machuca; daughters, Andrea Machuca and Juanita Machuca; and brothers, Ysidoro Rodriguez, Marcelo Rodriguez, Francisco Rodriguez, Luciano Rodriguez, and Genaro Rodriguez.
She is survived by her sons, Louis Machuca, Eloy Machuca, Sr.; Pascual Machuca, Jr., and Jose Machuca; daughter, Plasida Machuca Mendez; and numerous grand; great-grand; great-great grand; and great-great-great grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 5 - 8 p.m. Thursday, February 26 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple. Recitation of Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m.
