Obituary

Cary Rey Boyd, 60, of Temple, Texas, passed away on June 29, 2026.

Cary was born on June 8, 1966, in Newton, Kansas, to Gary Boyd and Kathleen Boston. He graduated from Newton High School in 1984 and later attended Texas State Technical College, completing his studies in 1993. Cary built a career as an HVAC technician and overseas contractor, taking pride in his work and the opportunities it provided for his family.

Above all else, Cary was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather. His family was the center of his world and his greatest source of happiness. While he would jokingly say that an ice-cold beer came in a close second, those who knew him best knew that nothing mattered more to him than spending time with the people he loved.

Cary found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved fishing, rooting on his beloved Dallas Cowboys, and listening to classic rock and roll. He had a generous heart, a great sense of humor, and a way of making people feel welcome. Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void, his legacy will continue through the family he loved so deeply. He will be forever remembered, forever missed, and forever loved.

Cary was preceded in death by his father, Gary Boyd, stepfather, Lewis Robertson, and his brother, Cory Boyd.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Norma Boyd; his mother, Kathleen Boston; his brothers, Darrin Boyd, Chad Robertson, Dylan Boyd, and Cody Boyd; his sisters, Angel O'Neal, Misty Taylor, and Crystal O'Dell; his sons, Johnathan Boyd and Kyler Boyd; his daughters, Kayla Boyd, Leiandra Salazar, Tamara Martinez, and Crystal Rodriguez; his many cherished grandchildren: Chasity, Ciara, Jaiden, Christopher, Giavanna, Eli, Ronald, Jenny, Vianna, Izik, Jordan, Caliyah, Mikaylan, Lonnie, Renesme, Lacelyn, Fenleigh, and Paxton, along with numerous extended family members and dear friends who will miss him greatly.

A visitation will be held at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, from 6 to 8 PM with a rosary at 7.
