Carroll Wayne Copeland

Carroll Marty Copeland, 62, of Nolanville passed away Friday at a Temple living center. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Tuesday at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple. Services will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday at the funeral home with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Reverend Sam Callaway will officiate.

Mr. Copeland was born September 10, 1946 to Herman and Lela Mitchell Copeland in Temple. He played football for Temple High School and graduated in 1965. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Marine Corp proudly serving his country. Mr. Copeland worked for the City of Temple Police and Fire Departments and then owned and operated Temple Security for several years. He earned his Masters Degree in Criminology from Central Texas College. He married Debra Ann Sutter Copeland February 11, 1983 in Temple. Mr. Copeland was a former member of Twin Cities Baptist Church.

He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Frances Copeland Welcelean. He is survived by his wife, Debra of Nolanville; sons, Joseph and Cory Copeland and stepdaughter, Christina Gray of Nolanville; brother, Frankie Lee Joe Copeland, Sr. of Temple; sister, Patricia Perry of Morgans Point Resort; 2 grandchildren.

Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple is in charge of arrangements.
