She left us to move closer to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, May 19, 2024, in Temple, Texas. Born on August 20, 1952, in Lubbock, Texas, to parents, Carl Leroy and Laverne (Payton) Bailey, Carla's life was a tapestry of achievements and love that touched the hearts of many.
Carla's career as a scientist saw her work tirelessly on numerous research projects, leaving an indelible mark on the field of Medicine. She felt that one of her greatest achievements was in developing disciplines and protocols for "Quality Patient Care" during her tenure at Baylor Scott & White. Her commitment to excellence and compassion set a standard that inspired those around her.
Beyond the realm of science, Carla found solace and strength in her faith. A devoted follower of Jesus Christ, she was an active member of Temple Bible Church, where her spiritual journey flourished. Her love for God radiated through everything she did and brought comfort to all who knew her.
Carla's passion extended to her hobbies and interests as well. She found joy in agriculture and was the proud owner of a farm where she spent precious moments with her family. Engaging in activities like cooking, preserving, canning, sewing, quilting, gardening, and farming allowed her creative spirit to shine. An educator at heart, Carla took great pleasure in sharing her knowledge and skills with others. Teaching was not merely a task for her but a calling she embraced wholeheartedly. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she enriched with wisdom and care.
Carla's proudest accomplishment may not be found in professional accolades or material success but in the life lesson she imparted to others: "Keep your eyes on Jesus; He has NEVER let me down. Always keep Him close." These words encapsulate Carla's unwavering faith and resilience—a legacy that will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew her.
