Carl Holcomb

April 25, 1935 — March 31, 2015

Memorial Services for Carl Everette Holcomb, 79, of Temple will be 10:00 am Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Harper- Talasek Funeral Home in Temple with Michael Lancaster officiating. A reception will follow at the Harper-Talasek Family Center. Inurnment will be at a later date at the Central Texas Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas.

Mr. Holcomb passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at a local care facility.

Carl was born on April 25, 1935 in Buffalo Springs, Texas to Carlton Thomas Holcomb and Craigy Iola Covington Holcomb. He graduated from McAdoo High School in McAdoo, Texas and attended college in Uvalde, Texas. Carl served our country in the United States Air Force and while serving, he married and started his family. While living in Lubbock, Texas he worked for Simplex Time Recording, then moved to Albuquerque, NM and started his own business as a sound recording contractor. Carl was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He loved taking friends flying, golf, political debates and his passion was with the art of closing a deal.

Carl was preceded in death by his son, Derek Carl Holcomb, brother; Tiff Weldon Holcomb; grandson, Paul Brown, Jr.; and parents.

Survivors include his son; Steven Harper Holcomb and wife Mary; daughter, Deborah Holcomb Lancaster and husband Michael; brother, George Eugene Holcomb and wife, Yo; sister, Lottie Mae Parker and husband Don; one grandchild, Benjamin Brown; and five great-grandchildren.
