Calvin Curtis Chenoweth, 88, of Temple died Tuesday, March 14, at a Temple hospital.
His body was cremated.
No services are planned.
Calvin was born Jan. 22, 1929, to Robert Wayne and Dorcas Dean Harvey Chenoweth in Laddonia, Mo. He served in the U.S. Army, 1948-1952, and was stationed in El Paso. He worked for Ford Motor Company in Kansas City, Mo., for more than 17 years. He also worked construction in San Diego and retired from the street department for the City of Temple, while working there he received an award for saving the street department money. He also received a Good Neighbor award from the City of Troy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Curtis Ray Chenoweth; and five brothers, Charles William Chenoweth, Robert Chenoweth, Eugene Chenoweth, Alfred Harvey Chenoweth and Orvil Chenoweth.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Frances Ellen Pillow Saltsman Chenoweth; a stepson, Jonnie Lee Saltsman Jr. of Tucson, Ariz.; two stepdaughters, Nita Carol Saltsman Bulls of Belton and Debra Marie Saltsman of Temple; a sister, Margaret Mae LaGrange of Puyallup, Wash.; six step-grandchildren, Angela Bulls, Justin Bulls, Jennifer DeGraaff, Rebecca Bulls Soltys, Michael Symsick and Christopher Saltsman; five step-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews, Charles Don Chenoweth, Kenney Chenoweth, Donald Chenoweth, Rose Marie Cauthon, Sharon Cordes, Terri Chenoweth Blevins, Dale Chenoweth, Robert Chenoweth, Michael Chenoweth, Larry Chenoweth, Edie Hein and Janice Hatch.
Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple is in charge of arrangements.
