Callie Baldridge

Callie Angelina Smoot Baldridge, 86, of Waco, passed away Monday, October 1, 2007 at a local Waco nursing home. Graveside Services, officiated by Reverend David Shuttlesworth, of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church, will be held Thursday, October 4, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Garden of the Apostles section of Waco Memorial Park on North Interstate 35, south of Loop 340, in Waco, Texas. There will be no formal visitation.

Callie was born December 5, 1920 in Pecan Gap, Texas. She was one of eight boys and two girls born to Laura Etta Dotson Smoot and William Moten Smoot. She married Drury C. Baldridge in 1944, and they celebrated 42 years together. She was a member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church. A long-time Temple, Texas, resident, she retired from Santa Fe Hospital where she worked in the insurance department.

Callie loved her family and enjoyed her friends. She particulary liked music and flowers. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Drury C. Baldridge, her parents, and her brothers and sisters. Callie is survived by her daughter, Donna Kay Baldridge; her son, Bob Baldridge and wife, Cris; her grandchildren: Robyn Baldridge and Ryan Baldridge; and special family friend, Maggie Becker, all of Waco, Texas. She leaves many relatives and friends who will fondly remember her.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donating to a charity of your choice.
