Billie Jolene Hughes

Billie Jolene Hughes, 90, of Moody, Texas, went to be with our Lord on Monday, February 16, 2026. She was born on March 31, 1935, in Lampasas, Texas, to the late Meredith Earl Heath and Ada Grace Cummins. She was married to Jim Hughes and had four sons whom she loved dearly.

Billie was a faithful woman who would share her love of Jesus with anyone she spoke with. She cherished the time she was able to spend with her family and close friends and freely gave of herself to help others. She loved attending church services and was a devoted member of God’s House Ministry for over 30 years. She also enjoyed visiting the First Assembly of God as her extended church family.

Billie is survived by three sons, Jim Hughes and wife Georgianna of Belton, Jerry Hughes and wife Sandra of Moody, and Billy Hughes and wife Gina of Moody; two brothers, George Heath of Fort Worth and Donald Heath of Temple; daughter-in-law, Marlene Hughes; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and her sister, Sandra Davis of Waco.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Hughes, her son Pat Hughes, her parents, two sisters, two brothers, and two grandchildren.

There will be a visitation held at Harper Talasek Funeral Home in Temple on Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 6-8 pm,

Funeral service will be at God’s House Ministry in Moody on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 11 am, with graveside services to follow at Moody Cemetery. A private family lunch will be held at the First Assembly of God after services are concluded.
