Billie Edwards

No services are planned for Billie Gene Edwards, 84, of Temple, previously of Tuscola, Texas.

Mr. Edwards died Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at a local nursing home.

Billie Gene was born May 29, 1930 in Tokeen, Texas to Alec Edwards and Allice Wright Edwards. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, having attained the rank of E3. After his service to our country, he worked in the oil industry as an oil driller. He was a member of the Wildwood Baptist Church in Temple and was known for helping his neighbors and anyone in need.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sleeta Swindle Edwards son Randall Randy Edwards and wife Angel daughter Rhonda Davis and husband Dale brother Ross Sterling Edwards sister Hazel Davis and numerous grandchildren, greatgrandchildren and greatgreatgrandchildren.

HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Temple is in charge of arrangements.
