Bill Jackson, 93, of Temple passed away on Friday, July 12, 2013, at a local hospital. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013, at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Temple, with Reverend Hubert Austin and Reverend Don Moore officiating.
Bill Jackson was born March 2, 1920, in Galveston, Texas to Reuben W. and Winifred B. Corrington Jackson. He married Marjorie Davis in Galveston on November 24, 1944, and they moved to Temple in 1957. He worked for the Santa Fe Railway for 46 years, retiring as a Sales Manager.
Bill was a member of the First United Methodist Church since 1957, a member of the Rotary Club for 52 years, a charter member of the Temple Humane Society, a volunteer for Scott White Hospice for over 20 years, and he started the Christian Cupboard at First United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Marjorie.
He is survived by his daughter, Kay J. King his niece, Debbie Daiva his best friend, Spencer one granddaughter, Leslie Ann Young two greatgranddaughters, Tabitha Marley and Kayla Garcia and three greatgreatgrandchildren, Aubree, Kinlea, and Cayden.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Scott White Hospice, 2401 South 31st Street, Temple, Texas 76508.
