Bill Barnard 89, passed away February 4 at his home in The Grove. He was born March 25, 1918 to Charles Preston and Nellie Ann Kemp Barnard in Comanche, Texas. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. After his discharge from the army he worked as a heavy equipment operator for ARMCO Steel in Houston where he retired. Bill was a member of the VFW in Marble Falls. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Leda Bell Barnard; son, Donald Barnard. He is survived by son, William Gene Barnard of Comanche; daughter, Nancy Kelley of Ft. Worth; step-children, Ray and Nancy Greenwood of Gatesville; Fay Mills and William Lee Greenwood of Gatesville; sister, Merlene Welch of Waco; brother, Luke Barnard of Comanche. 26 Grandchildren,

16 great grandchildren, 18 great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 6-8 and services will be Thursday, February 7 at 10:00 a.m. at Harper-Talasek Chapel with burial in Bluffton Cemetery in Tow, Texas. Chaplain Dar Evans will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Michael Easley, Richard Easley, James Pryor, Frank Greenwood, Darrell Greenwood and Billy Greenwood.
