;It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Beverly Sue Pullen (Stracener), who passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026, at the age of 78, surrounded by her family.

Born on May 12, 1947, to Laura Edith Rawlins Stracener and James Hubert Stracener, Beverly spent much of her life in Temple, Austin, and Marble Falls, Texas. She was a devoted mother to Brandon and Ashleigh, whom she shared with her first husband, Glynn Truman Ross, and later shared 35 years of marriage with her second husband, Carlton Pullen, and children Angie and Heather.

Beverly dedicated her life to her family and her faith, serving as a deacon at Hope Presbyterian and a teacher and Stephen Minister at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian. Later in life, she attended Riverbend Church in Austin. Her wish was that the Lord would say to her, “Well done, good and faithful servant,” as she entered heaven. Professionally, she was a valued administrative assistant at Beaumont Nursing Center for over a decade and also worked in real estate and for the City of Arlington.

Beverly lived a life defined by her loving spirit. While she took pride in many things, she often shared that her greatest accomplishment was not found in a title or a milestone, but in the children she raised. She will be remembered for her kindness, love, intelligence, and wonderful sense of humor. She was a patient and open-minded soul who instilled a deep sense of compassion in her children.

Outside of her service to others, Beverly loved to dance, especially the two-step, and cherished memories of dancing with her friends, sisters, and cousins. Later in life, she took up quilting with Carlton, who acted as her dedicated "sous" quilter. They enjoyed long walks and simply being outdoors together. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy, and she showered them with computer time, candy, and affection. She also held a lifelong love for Elvis Presley and chocolate ice cream.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton Pullen; her ex-husband Glynn Truman Ross; her parents; her daughter, Angela Brodnax (Pullen); her sisters, LaNell Mullen, Merle Martin, and Shirley Ann Kelley; and her brother, Lynn Stracener.

Beverly is survived by her sister, Pamela Stracener Richard; her son, Brandon Ross; her daughters, Ashleigh Lind and Heather Pullen; her grandchildren, Jefferson, Jackson, and Browning Lind, Truman Ross, Elizabeth Willingham, Chloe Chimney, Scarlet Lane, and Sterling Kroeckel; and her great-grandchildren, Halo Chimney and Cobain Lane.

A funeral service will be held in Temple on February 14th at 2:00pm at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home, located at 500 W. Barton Avenue. A visitation will precede the service at 1:00pm followed by a private family burial.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alpha-1 Foundation at: https://alpha1.org/.
