Graveside services for Betty Sue Vaughan Medford, 85 of Houston, and formerly of the Belfalls/Oenaville area, will be 4 p.m. Saturday, June 4 in Belfalls Cemetery with Pastor Robert Beamon officiating.
Mrs. Medford went to be with the Lord Monday, May 30, 2016, at her home in Houston. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Betty Sue Medford was born February 21, 1931 in Belfalls to Sanford Chappell Vaughan and Betty Rebecca Bridgewater Vaughan. She graduated from Troy High School and, in 1948, married Leroy Medford. She was employed as a Postal Clerk for the U.S. Postal Service at Fountainview Pharmacy. She was a Methodist by faith and was a member of a Christian Singles group. She enjoyed dancing at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid reader, gardener, and loved archeology.
Mrs. Medford was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, Leroy Medford, one brother and six sisters.
She is survived by her sons, Ray Vaughan Medford, John Lee Medford and wife Barbara, Jackson Medford and wife Jeannine, and Kelly Medford; a daughter, Patricia Joy Garcia and husband Roy; and five grandchildren, Kaisha Medford, Chelsea Johnson, Quenton Medford, Isabella Medford, and Grace Medford.
