Betty Karen Barton, age 77 of Dallas, Texas passed from this life Wednesday, November 15, 2023. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.
Betty was born on October 11, 1946, to Bill and Marvel (Brown) Baroli in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She graduated from Muskogee High School in 1964, and attended Amberton University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and Business in 1992. She worked for Fina Oil Company from 1978-2001, Essilor Corp, Sport Ridge Athletic Club, and as a massage therapist. Betty married Ben M. Barton Sr on October 20, 1978.
Betty loved to go to car races of any kind; open wheel, stock car, and drag races with her friends. She was also involved with seniors in playing racquetball and pickleball and loved to participate in bowling leagues with her friends. Betty loved to travel, enjoying several trips to Europe with her husband. She loved Italy, France, London, Spain, and the islands of the Caribbean. She went on cruises with her husband, family, and friends to the Caribbean and Baltic Seas. She was a member of Silver Sneakers and competed in various fun runs in the Dallas area for years. She loved walking and hiking with her friends in Sedona and other mountain regions.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents Bill and Marvell Baroli; sister, Loretta Faye Self; and brother, Michael Henry Baroli.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her loving husband, Ben M. Barton, Sr. and son Andrew K. Barton and daughter-in-law Wendy Barton. Betty has two nieces, Jennifer Griffin (Self) and Kathryn Baroli and a nephew Josh Self.
For 45 years, Betty had been a mother to Ben M. Barton, Jr., and Cynthia L. Machicek and Larry Hicks II. Betty had six grandchildren, Lucy Marie Barton, Cooper Crenshaw Barton, Emily Elizabeth Barton, Jacob Alexander Barton, Kayla Machicek, and Josh Machicek.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Ieisha Tickle, Caregiver Supreme for the past two years.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
