Bernice West

A mass of Christian burial for Bernice West, 73, of Holland, will be 10 a.m., Thursday, January 2, 2014, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Temple with Reverend Ranjan Cletus officiating.

Interment will follow at Holland Cemetery.

Mrs. West died Saturday, December 28, 2013, at her residence.

She was born April 22, 1940, in Austin to Anton and Annie Pavlasek Gorubec. She married C.E. West on May 17, 1962 and he preceded her in death on March 1, 2005. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Josephine Donaldson and a brother, Frank Gorubec.

She is survived by two daughters, Cathy Spinn of Holland and Sissy Swann of Winnsboro a brother, Mark Butch Gorubec of Taylor five nieces one nephew four grandchildren, Natalie Krumnow, Klye Spinn, Steffany Vercher, and Lanam Caton and three greatgrandchildren, Laila, Monica, and Brooklyn.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Mary Catholic Church.

Visitation will be 5 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at HarperTalasek Funeral Home, with recitation of rosary at 7 p.m.
