Services for Benjamin Tenorio Laguana, 65, of Temple will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at St. Luke Catholic Church in Temple with Fr. James Ekeocha officiating. Burial will occur with Military Honors at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen at 2:00 pm.
Mr. Benjamin Tenorio Laguana died on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at a local hospital.
Benjamin Tenorio Laguana was born on January 4, 1952 to Augustin Laguana and Ramona Tenorio in Barrigada, Guam. He graduated from high school and enlisted in the US. Army. He stayed in reservist and worked at the Long Beach Naval Ship Yard as a heavy Equipment mobile operator from 1978-1995. He married the love of his life, Abundia Artates Rimorin, in October of 1977. Together they had eight children and they moved their family to Texas. He worked till his retirement at Ft. Hood as a heavy equipment operator from 1995-2013. Benjamin spent his retirement fishing, traveling, and baking. He was a Grand Master Black Belt in Kung Fu. Mr. Laguana was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Joaquin Laguana, Vincente Laguana, and Galo Laguana; and two sisters, Rosa Breslin and Teresita Gloynes.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years; a son, MSgt. Benjamin Laguana and wife April; seven daughters, Ann Eclavea and her husband Edward, Sgt. Valerie Chimm and husband Dee, Charlyn Laguana, Vivian Gomez and husband John, Marlyn Laguana, Sgt. Joanne Laguana, and Spc. April Laguana; two brothers, Jose Laguana and wife Nila, and Ignacio Laguana and wife Sharon; a sister, Maria Sievers and her husband Charles; and eight grandchildren.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to Scott & White Hospital for their compassionate care and to all their friends and family members for their prayers.
Visitation will be held at 5:00 - 7:00 pm with Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 pm on Monday, November 20 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.
