Benito Lopez

Benito Rodriguez Lopez, 70, of Temple passed away on June 3, 2013 at a local hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial has been set for Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church of Temple at 10 am with Father Tom Chamberlain officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park.
Benito was born on August 19, 1942 in Jarrell to Leonardo and Leandra Rodriguez Lopez. He attended Granger High School. He retired from Carpenters after working there for over 30 years. He was selected for fast pitch softball and is on the walk of fame at Lions Park in Temple.
Benito was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers Leonardo Lopez Jr. and Robert Lopez.
He is survived by his 3 sons Gary Lopez of Temple, Eddie Lopez of Austin, and Chris Lopez of Austin, 2 sisters Linda Pedroza of Troy and Janie Dominguez of Grapevine, 5 brothers Edward Lopez of Temple, Albert Lopez of Elgin, Toby Lopez of Cedar Park Andrew Lopez of Georgetown, Buck Lopez of Granger and Abelardo Lopez of Hutto, 2 grandchildren and a host of dear friends.
A visitation will be Wednesday, June 5, 2013 from 68 pm at the HarperTalasek Funeral Home Temple with a rosary at 7pm.
