Barbara Ann Schiller, age 58, of Troy, passed away peacefully with her family at her side at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple on Jan. 4, 2026 after a lengthy illness.
Barbara was the youngest of 4 daughters, born April 26, 1967 in Temple, Texas to her parents, Garland E. and Evelyn Joyce Schiller. She graduated from Temple High School and Mary-Hardin Baylor College with a degree in Accounting after which she was employed by Wal-Mart in Temple for the past 37 years.
Barbara loved her family and her cats. Near and dear to her heart were the many cats that she rescued over the years.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Garland E. Schiller and Evelyn Joyce (Oswald) Schiller, one sister, Betty (Schiller) Tarver, and one brother-in-law, Jim Brown.
She is survived by her son, Travis Billeck of Troy; her spouse of 25 years, Robert Thomas of Troy; 2 sisters, Mary Polasek (and her husband, Joseph) of Snook and Theresa Brown of Richmond; brother-in-law, Robert Tarver of Conroe; 2 nieces, 3 nephews, 2 great-nieces, and 9 great-nephews.
Visitation will be from 9–10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, at the Ocker Brethren Church Cemetery pavilion with a memorial service at 10 a.m. with interment to follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.
