Augustina Gauna

Services for Augustina Garcia Gauna, 73, of Temple, will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 27, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Temple with Father Francisco Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow in Bellwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Gauna passed away Sunday, July 22, at her home in Temple.

Augustina Garcia Gauna was born December 2, 1944 in Liberty Hill, Texas to Trinidad Garcia and Refugia Castor Garcia. She married Eugene Gauna at Immaculate Heart Church in Sweetwater, Texas on January 19, 1964 and he preceded her in death on December 7, 2008. Augustina worked in dietary for Scott and White Memorial Hospital, and as a CNA at local nursing homes and at Scott and White. She loved to travel and enjoyed gardening, sewing and cooking large meals for her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She lived in Temple for fifty years and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Mrs. Gauna was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; and her brother, Andrew Garcia. She is survived by her sons, Steven Gauna and wife Janet, and Alexander Gauna and wife Claudia; daughters Christina Uribe and husband Jacinto, Suzanna Camarillo and husband Luis, and JoAnna Morris and husband Joseph; brothers Johnny Garcia and wife Martha, Trini Garcia and wife Martha, and Robert Garcia; sisters Adelita Batres and Estella Ruiz; twelve grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday, July 26, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple. Recitation of Rosary will be at 7 p.m.

Harper-Talasek Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
