Aubrey Ray Scott Sr, of Troy, Texas, passed away on August 31, 2026. He was 74 years old. Aubrey was born to Aubrey Lee and Fay Scott (King) in San Angelo, Texas, on April 26, 1952.

Aubrey served in the United States Military as a Marine from 1969 until 1973, and drove a tank while serving in the National Guard. He spent 65 years cutting trees, mowing lawns, and fixing fences. Aubrey also spent time working on cars, fishing, and spending time with his brother, Jerry Malina.

Aubrey is preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey Lee and Fay Scott (King); grandparents, Jeff and Ora Mae Scott; brother, George Ray Brodason; son, Jason Scott; and great-grandson, Joaquin Scott.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Cindy Scott (Rardin); brother, Jerry Malina; sisters, Johnnie Morgan and Sue Balicio; and children, Holly Discua, Cody Schwaller, Aubrey Ray Scott Jr, and Zachary Schwaller; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Aubrey’s family invites friends to join them for a time of visitation on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 6:00PM-8:00PM, at Harper Talasek Funeral Home in Temple. A funeral service will take place on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 2:00PM, at Harper Talasek Funeral Home in Temple. Following the funeral service, Aubrey will be laid to rest at Pendleton Cemetery.
