Services for Aubrey George Pippins (Pip), 70, of Temple, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, December 8 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple with Jerl Pippins officiating.
Mr. Pippins passed away peacefully at his home December 4, 2016.
Aubrey George Pippins was born February 1, 1946 in Temple, Texas to Eugene and Virginia Pippins. He graduated from Temple High School in 1966 and received his radio and communication degree from TSTI in the 70's. He also received a radio and television certificate from Temple Junior College. Aubrey worked for Gliddon Paint Company from 1984 to 1996. He worked at BMC West in the paint department from 1996 to 1998 and for Clarksville Refrigeration Lines from 1998 until his retirement in 2008. He worked part time as a custodian for TISD from 2008 to 2012, and later was a crossing guard from 2015 to 2016. Aubrey will be missed by many, but especially by his dog, "Mokie." He was known for his funny jokes and crazy character. When he was younger he played baseball. His dream came true when he got to pitch the first baseball at the Ranger's game. He never had a negative thought and always thought positive. Nothing ever got him down. He loved reading the Bible, time travel books, the weird and unexplainable, and how to win at slot machines (which was his passion).
Aubrey was preceded in death by his father in 1997; his mother in 1998; and his sister, Anita Pippins Mauch in 2009.
Aubrey is survived by his brothers, Odis Pippins and wife Mary of Belton, Kenneth Pippins and wife Lydia; sister, Kathy Gulledge and husband Grant; three nieces; six great-nieces; seven nephews and five great-nephews.
Visitation will be 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, at the funeral home.
