Artie Jackson

Artie Belle Jackson, 99, of Burnet, formerly of Temple, died Tuesday, September 27, 2011 in a nursing facility in Burnet. She was born December 18, 1911 to William Newton and Rebecca Delany Armstrong Malone in Davilla. When she was 10 years old she helped her parents run the telephone switchboard from her home in Davilla. She and her husband, Jewell Delmus Jackson, Sr. farmed in Granger, Streetman and Happy Union.

Mrs. Jackson lived in Temple from 19772008. She was a member of First Christian Church in Temple.

She is preceded in death by her husband, January 1969 her son, Jewell Delmus J.D. Jackson, Jr. , December 1976 2 brothers and 5 sisters.

She is survived by her son W. Hubert Jackson and his wife, Linda of Burnet granddaughters, Buffy Lin Taylor and her husband, Justin, Joy Jane Barreras and her husband, Ernesto Manuel and Vicki Anne Jackson and 5 great grandchildren, Denton, Aubree, Anthony, Ernie and Alicia.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 30, 2011 at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Temple with Dr. Don Lynn officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 1st in Plainview Memorial Park in Plainview.
