Annie Louise Zalmanek passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at a local hospital.
Annie was born on March 12, 1924 in Coleman, Texas to Howard Thomas Walker and Ruth Louise Miller Walker. After high school she married Frank J. Zalmanek on August 1, 1940. Annie was a WWII veteran's wife and together they started their own business, Zalmanek Conservation Contracting Services. Her proudest moments were being a mother to her three daughters. She loved her grandchildren and showed her love to her family by being a good homemaker and preparing a good table. Annie worked her garden, canned, and made jams and jellies. She and Frank traveled to Colorado every year to hunt. Throughout the years they hunted and fished together in Texas until failing health made it impossible. Annie was a very accomplished sportswoman and was known for her shooting skills. She was a member of Grace Community Primitive Baptist Church in Temple.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 51 years; a daughter, Frankie Louise Lynch; and sister, Miller Dee Walker.
Survivors include two daughters; Helen Rowe, Dianna Washek and husband Don; brother Howard T. Walker, Jr. and wife Pauline; nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and numerous great great-grandchildren.
There will be no public services for Annie Louise Zalmanek.
