Anne Fisher

Anne Sawey Fisher, 87, of Temple, died Saturday, November 19, 2011, in her home after a short illness.

Mrs. Fisher was born December 16, 1923, in Roswell, New Mexico. She was the daughter of Charles Sawey, Sr. and Ruth Crawford.

Mrs. Fisher graduated from Scott and White Hospital School of Nursing in 1943 as a Registered Nurse. Mrs. Fisher was a dedicated nurse for the next 45 years in California, New Mexico and Texas. She retired from the Temple V.A. Hospital. Mrs. Fisher continued to volunteer at the V.A. hospital until her stroke in 1996.

Anne was married to Wiley V. Fisher, Jr. on June 4, 1945. She and Wiley had two sons, Mike and Luke Fisher.

Mrs. Fisher was preceded in death by her husband, in February 1993 brothers Chuck and Bill Sawey granddaughter, Ashley in July 1993.

Mrs. Fisher is survived by her sons, Mike Fisher of Orange, California and Luke Fisher of Temple, 2 grandchildren, 4 greatgrandchildren and one stepgreatgrandchild.

Mrs. Fisher was a devout Baptist.

Services will be at HarperTalasek Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 10:00 a.m.

Officiating will be Reverend Albert Lopez. A private burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple
