Services for Andrew Bargas, Jr., 69, of Temple, will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, August 12, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple. Burial will follow in North Belton Cemetery.
Mr. Bargas passed away Friday, August 4, in Temple.
Andrew Bargas, Jr. was born January 7, 1948 in Georgetown, Texas to Andrew R. Bargas, Sr. and Josephine Ortiz Bargas. He lived in Temple most of his life. Andrew most of all was a kind, giving and big-hearted family man. He enjoyed fishing in his younger days. Mr. Bargas treasured the time sitting on the porch with friends and family alike. Andrew also enjoyed watching Pastor Jimmy Swaggart on TV. He was a good Christian man that lived to serve others. He was a self-employed painter. His true passion in life was working, in his many illnesses he deeply missed being able to paint and work. Above all else he loved to spend time with his beloved family. Mr. Bargas will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Mr. Bargas was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Bargas, Sr. and Josephine Ortiz Schultz, step-daughter, Dana Casey, and brother, Richard Lopez.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Lynn Casey Bargas; a son, Michael Andrew Bargas; a daughter, Christina Bargas Leza and fiancée Jason Vriseno; three brothers, Joe Ortiz, Bennie Bargas and David Polanco; three sisters, Beatrice Bargas Ortiz, Evelyn Polanco and Mary Lou Drake; and four grandchildren, Jerome Anthony Ponce, Jaydon Zayne Leza, Clarissa Winningham, and Gabrielle Vriseno.
Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday, August 11, at the funeral home.
Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple is in charge of arrangements.
