Services for Amparo Lerma, 86, of Temple will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 11 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Cesar Guzman officiating. Cremation will follow.
Amparo Lerma died on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at a local care facility.
Amparo Lerma was born on May 11, 1930 in Belton to Salome Lerma and Elisa (Guajardo) Lerma. She worked in various manufacturing companies and raised her family in Temple. She was a strong woman and her family learned their strength from her. She was devoted to her family and pets. She collected small dolls and had a strong passion for the Dallas Cowboys. Amparo was committed to her religion and loved Pope John Paul and Pope Francis.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Jose Martinez, Manuel Martinez; one daughter, Irene Martinez; a brother, Raymond Lerma, and a sister, Lupe Lerma.
Survivors include a son, Jesus Jimenez, five daughters, Guadalupe Martinez, Suzanne Jimenez, Sandra Jimenez, Jessica Booth (Brian) Cynthia Dianne Prevost (Andrew); two sisters, Connie Silva, Janie Lara; along with numerous grand and great and great great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Temple Animal Shelter.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, November 10 from 5:00- 8:00 pm with recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
Arrangements are in the care of Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.
