Alton Millard Marshall, 95, of Temple died Friday, January 21, 2011 at a local nursing center. He was born September 17, 1915 to Joseph Henry and Ara Melissa McDaniel Marshall in Purmela. He married Theda Wiley on January 20, 1935. They were able to celebrate their 76th wedding anniversary the day before his passing. He has lived in the Killeen, Temple and Central Texas area for most of his life and was a member of First Baptist Church in Temple.
Mr. Marshall was employed with Raymond Mikeska Pearl Beer Distributors, Floca Brothers Falstaff Distributors and retired with Nick Demaria and Don Gidden as sales manager for Schlitz Beer Distributing.
He served his country through war efforts as a flight test inspector for the P51, AT6 Trainer and C82 Flight Box Car at North American Aviation Corporation.
Mr. Marshall is preceded in death by his daughter, Beverly Nan Roberts three brothers, Harry Marshall, L. Tillman Marshall and Weldon Lee Marshall.
He is survived by his wife of 76 years, Theda Marshall of Temple sons, Dan Clinton Marshall of Ft. Worth, Kyle Don Marshall of Temple and Von Rodman Marshall of Leadville, Colorado daughter, Jo Marshall Brown of Temple grandchildren, Glen Earl Roberts, Michael Jeffrey Brown, Angela Kay Brown, Dean Alton Marshall, Gregory Eugene Marshall, Montana Von Marshall, Zade Kyle Marshall and Tristan Jarvis Marshall and 3 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 57 p.m., Monday, January 24 at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 25 at HarperTalasek Chapel with Reverend Sam Callaway officiating. Burial will follow in Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple.
