Allyssandra Charmian Moanililehua Powers, 29, of Austin, Texas, passed away August 11, 2019 in Austin. She was born March 1, 1990 in San Jose, California to Anthony Lamarr and Gail (Hutton) Smith.
Allyssandra is survived by her husband, Benjamin Michael Thomas Powers; son, Mykel K. Ledbetter; parents, Gail Hutton Smith and Anthony Lamarr Smith; step-mother, Tanya Cantu Smith; brother, Marcus Anthony Smith; sister, Anastasia Nichole Smith Kees; brother-in-law, Justin Alexander Kees; step-siblings, Ariana Cantu Perez, Diego Cantu Perez and Carlos Cantu Perez; grandparents, Douglas L. and Lucena S. Hutton, and Afton N. and Cheryl E. Smith; and many other loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Allyssandra attended Temple High School, was in Kittens, and graduated in June 2008. She went to Army basic training soon after. She served in the Army Reserve for 6 years before joining the Air Force Reserve, where she served until her passing. She married the love of her life, Benji, on December 8, 2018 and was planning the Vows Ceremony. She enjoyed traveling. She went to Japan for Air Force reserve, and she loved cruising the Caribbean with family. She made friends easily, and was always there to help and cheer them up. In her final act of kindness, she donated her organs.
She is preceded by her Great Grandparents Oly and Jan Salinas, Great Aunt Linda Taylor Maple, Great Uncle Marcelino Salinas, and Aunt Michelle Hutton Zamora.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August, 24, 2019 at Harper Talasek Funeral Home in Temple, Texas. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel.
