Alice Baumgart

Mrs. Alice Hill Baumgart, 88, of Temple, died Saturday, September 26, 2009 in a Temple hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple with Rev. Jeff Loudin and Dr. Danny Crosby officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple.

Mrs. Baumgart was born to William F. Fritz and Veruna Barabas Krause in Holland on April 28, 1921. She was a lifelong resident of Bell County. She married Richard K. Rit Hill in Rogers on October 7, 1940. He preceded her in death on January 16, 1978. She then married William A. Baumgart in Temple on May 12, 1979, and he preceded her in death on January 14, 1986. She formerly owned and operated Hill's Room and Board in Temple, and had also worked at the Baugh Shoe Factory and Temple Laundry. Mrs. Baumgart was a member of Taylor's Valley Baptist Church and the Deborah Sunday school class. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 1820 and the DAV.

Survivors include one son, Ronnie Keyleen Hill and wife, Cherri of Temple; one daughter, Debra Ann Hill Vansa and husband, Robert of Cameron; five grandchildren, Ron Hill, Jeremy Vansa, Gaylon Bartlett, Jr., Amy Vansa and Ashlee Bartlett Herzog; and nine great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Alfred Krause.

Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Gaylon Bartlett, Jr., M. H. Hill, Ron Hill, Darrell Krause, Dexter Krause and Jeremy Vansa.
