Alejandro Garcia Sr. 84, of Temple Texas passed away October 9, 2007 at a local hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday October 12, 2007 at 10:00 am at St Mary Catholic Church with the Rev Ranjan Cletus officiating. Burial will follow at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas.
Alejandro Garcia was born in Temple, Texas on July 17, 1923 to Martin and Felictas Garcia. Alejandro joined the service in February of 1943 and serviced his country during WWII until January of 1946. Alejandro was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Medal with 1 Bronze Star, the Good Conduct Medal, Liberation Ribbon Victory Ribbon, 4 Overseas Service Bars. After returning Alejandro continued to serve his country in the Army as a Staff Sergeant in the Army National Guard. Alejandro was a member of the VFW in Temple, and American Legion, he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree in Temple. Alejandro is survived by his loving wife Martha Garcia of Temple, sons Alejandro Garcia Jr.; Timothy A Garcia; and Christopher S Garcia. Daughters Dianna M. Harden and Patricia A Kegerreis; 19 Grandchildren, 2 step Grandchildren; 13 Great grand children and 4 step- great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Thursday from 6-8 pm with a rosary being recited at 7:00 pm at the Harper-Talasek Funeral Home Chapel in Temple.
