A Memorial Service for Albert "Bert" Garcia, 62, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home Chapel in Temple with Doctor Ramiro Pena officiating.
Albert went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday February 7, 2018 surrounded by his family.
Bert as he was lovingly called was born on May 7, 1955 in Temple to Jesse and Minnie Garcia. He graduated from Temple High School in 1975. He worked for UPS until his retiring after 22 years.
Bert, an avid sports fan loved to watch his favorite teams, the Temple Wildcats and Dallas Cowboys.
On Friday nights he would be cheering on the wildcats with his Wildcat helmet and cowbell.
He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and camping, baseball, playing cards, barbeque and spending time with his family. A vibrant guy, he was full of life and enjoyed Tejano music along with Mexican food.
He had a tradition as being secret Santa for his family.
Mr. Garcia was preceded in death by his mother Minnie Garcia.
Albert is survived by his father, Jesse Garcia; two children, Martin A. Flores Garcia and his wife Margarita; daughter, Cristal C. Garcia; granddaughter, Anastacia Garcia; two sisters, Silvia Ramos and her husband Joe; Ruth Virgen and her husband Armando; two brothers, George Garcia and wife Lucy; Adam Garcia and his wife Yolanda; six nieces; nine nephews; twelve great nieces and thirteen great nephews.
