Round Rock

Bobbie Lois Ham, age 92, passed away peacefully at Double Creek Memory Care in Round Rock. Graveside services will be held at 10 am Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Bellwood Memorial Park & Cemetery in Temple. Visitation will be Monday September 20, 2021 at Harper Talasek Funeral Home in Temple, Texas from 5:00 to 7:00.

Bobbie was born August 23, 1929 in Talpa, Texas to Wesley Flint James and Ruby McClure. She went to Centennial High School and Brownwood Business College. Bobbie married the love of her life, Murry Myrl Ham, on September 18, 1948. She lived in Dallas, Laredo, Temple, and Round Rock, Texas. Temple was always home. She was very active in the church choir and ladies’ groups at First Christian Church in Temple. Bobbie was known as the “doll lady.” She collected well-loved dolls and repaired them to like new condition. Throughout the year, she would donate dolls to the needy. At Christmas, Martha’s Kitchen was pleased to receive at most several hundred dolls to give to excited children. She also sewed and donated hundreds of lap quilts that were donated to many Temple area nursing homes. Bobbie loved the outdoors and especially her gardens.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Murry Myrl Ham; parents, Wesley and Ruby James; brothers, Carl James, Edward James, Weldon James, and Roy James; and sister, Louise Miller.

Survivors include son, Stephen Ham and wife, Dianna; son, Jim Ham and wife, Cheryl; sister, Tommie Jean Nixon; granddaughter, Julie Harding; grandson, Wesley Ham; grandson, Neal Ham; grandson, Nathan Ham; great grandsons, Bowen and Logan Harding; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Wesley Ham, Neal Ham, Nathan Ham, Stephen Harding, and Dan Golder.

Memorial donations may be made to First Christian Church Temple, Texas.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Halcyon Hospice, the staff at Doublecreek Memory Care and to Harmony Point Memory Care for all their kindness and caring for Bobbie.
